Urban Exposure, the residential development finance specialist, walked away with the coveted “Residential Financier of the Year” accolade at the Property Week RESI 2014 awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.
The Group provides Senior Debt, Stretch Senior, Mezzanine Finance and Equity Investment to developers in London and South East England and won the award after a 12 month period that saw the Group complete financing on a variety of schemes with a collective value of £1.3bn. This included a £225 million regeneration scheme in Greenwich, a £350m Super Prime scheme in Belgravia and a £150m prime development project in Victoria.
Urban Exposure’s specialist knowledge of both development and lending, which enables the company to act quickly when evaluating even the most complex development projects, was highlighted as a key reason for the Group’s ongoing success, which has seen the business grow significantly since its inception in 2002. In addition, the judging panel noted that the Company has excellent relationships with developers, other financiers, solicitors and estate agents.
The business now employs 14 staff in its Mayfair head office and is led by Chairman Ravi Takhar and Chief Executive Officer Randeesh Sandhu.
Commenting on the award, Chief Executive Officer Randeesh Sandhu said:
“We are absolutely delighted to win this award, especially given that we were up against a strong shortlist of 5 other bank and non-bank lenders.
“The RESI awards are judged by key experts from the UK residential property industry itself, so to have our business formally recognised in this way is a great honour for us and a ringing endorsement of the hard work our team has put in over the past 12 months.
“We are immensely proud of what we have achieved over the last year, and very excited about the future of this dynamic and rapidly changing sector of the property market. We hope to play an increasingly significant role within it.”
